Debian / Ubuntu で IRAF の minimal memo (traditional way)

(あるいは apt で IRAF をインストールする方法)

以下は適当に読み替えればUNIX系OSで汎用の話です．

OSの用意

1. インストールしてネットワークの設定をしてシステムをアップデート
2. 再起動して問題ないようなら sudo apt-get clean
3. Ctrl Alt t で端末を出す
   • env LANGUAGE=C LC_MESSAGES=C xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update
   • sudo apt install tcsh
   • chsh (ログインシェルを /bin/tcsh にする)
4. 下記の2行を記載した ~/.cshrc を作成する (IRAF と DS9 のための環境変数)
   • setenv iraf /iraf/iraf/
   • setenv IMTDEV inet:5137:localhost

IRAF 2.16.1 の導入

1. IRAF と適切な DS9 のLinux用バイナリを取得
2. sudo mkdir -p /iraf/iraf
3. cd /iraf/iraf
   • sudo tar zxvf ~/Downloads/iraf.lnux.x86_64.tar.gz
   • sudo ./install -s
4. cd /usr/local/bin
   • sudo ln -s /iraf/iraf/vendor/x11iraf/bin.linux/xgterm
   • sudo tar zxvf ~/Downloads/ds9.linux.*.tar.gz (* に入る数字は頻繁に変わる．linux は使っている distribution 名になる)
5. cd && rehash
6. mkiraf (xgterm を指定)

• login.cl や xgterm の設定については Windows で IRAF も参考になるかも
• news of v2.16.1 from RELEASE.txt

• オフライン時に cl 起動で待たされる原因は多分これ↓
  

  A new CHKUPDATE task hase been added to the SYSTEM package and is called automatically in the login.cl file. The purpose of the task is to check the NOAO distribution servers for an available IRAF update. This task will check only every <N> days, where <N> is set by the 'interval' parameter to the task. You can set the 'interval' parameter to -1 to disable the checks entirely (or comment out the task from the login.cl file), to zero to check with each login, or to some positive number which will be the number of days before checking again for an update.

IRAF の設定

• login.cl の修正例
  • stty xgterm
  • set pspage = "a4"
  • set imtype = "fits"
  • set imextn = "oif:imh fxf:fits,fit,FIT plf:pl qpf:qp stf:hhh,??h" (拡張子 .FIT を追加)
  • #chkupdate (コメントアウト)
